Journaling reads:

We had barely gotten started trying -- and I was pregnant!  Chris and I took a weekend trip to visit my parents, on that weekend I should have gotten my period but I didn't.  I'm really regular, so it was unusual that I was late.

I told Chris as we were driving home that he should get a pregnancy test somewhere on our way back from Sacramento.  We got two tests and I took them, one after the other, once we were home.  Oh my gosh!!  It was positive!

We called my parents the next day (as it was quite late at night) and told them, I remember my father didn't say a word, he was so stunned.  We went to Chris's parent's house and told them -- they were also shocked.  No one expected us to ever say we were having a baby, least of all us!

When I was 4 months pregnant, we traveled to two weddings.  One was in Palo Alto for my friend Ilona, who I've known since high school.  The second was for Chris's sister Cyndi, she married Jeff at a private zoo in orange county. 

I wasn't very comfortable on these trips, but it was fun roaming around San Francisco.  We visited Coit Tower, and this is me waiting (impatiently, I might add) for the elevator to get down from the viewing area at the top of the tower.

We were so excited to take Serena on Dumbo even though she was sadly cutting six teeth at once on this day, I know she enjoyed riding in her very own elephant. Perfect for the petting zoo photos I got of Serena at the San Diego Zoo, here's a two-page spread using Wrapped in Ribbons 2 by Lara Payton.  Fun stuff! As you can see, I had way too many good pictures of Serena with the goat.  I'm shocked I got 9 pics into this spread!

Here's a layout I did today as part of my fabulous new (well, temp) gig as a guest artist for Digiscraps by Deb:

I love the expression on Serena's face in this one.  It's using a kit called Serendipitous Days, and there's the papers, the alpha and the elements.  I still need to add the date to this page, but otherwise, this is the first time there's no font to list.
