Little Cable Cars

Lara Payton's new kit, Beloved, inspired me to pull out some of my old photos of San Francisco.  It's such a beautiful city, and this kit really highlights it, I think!

Warm Fuzzies. Good Karma. Positivity.

So here's an unsual thread for me --

I am really just joining the ranks of digital scrapbook designers, my first kits went out for sale in mid-January, though I was designing freebies for a bit and those were always maxing out the downloads.  :)  I've worked as a professional graphic designer and web builder for 12+ years and have also taught photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and more at UCLA Extension so I'm no newbie hehe!  I've been digi-scrapping for about two years now, and though I've just started selling,  I can see that there's TONS of competition out there from many talented designers, and I'm just hoping for a tiny piece of the giant pie that is the digi-scrapping world online.

In the boards of designers, there's lots of discussion about originality, and I have learned that they/we worry constantly about people copying their ideas. I wanted to find some public way of announcing that I respect and admire so many other designers (and my paypal account is well used and my hard drive is full of their kits to prove it!) and that as a relatively new designer am absolutely not trying to copy anyone.  I don't want to be enemies with my digital co-workers, as it is.  I want to continue to promote digital scrapbooking in general, and my fellow designers.

So, I've come up with a way to tell the world -- this blinkie:

I'm going to add it to my siggy and post on DST and other boards and try to be a positive influence, here's hoping it comes back to me hehe!

Feel free to grab a copy and post it to your siggy, I'd love to think that there are lots of designers and digiscrappers out there who realize that there's room enough for us all in this marketplace that will only continue to grow and bloom over the next several years.

I'll stop my rant now.  Thanks for your time.  :)

OMG -- Tagged!

Fellow HODS designer Sara E. tagged me!  So here's my 5 weird and unusual things about myself or my pets (yikes!)

1.  I can pick things up with my feet.  I rarely have to bend over to pick anything up.  What's even funnier is I've noticed my daughter picking things up with her feet too.  Must be a family trait! :D

2. One of my cats, Gibson, whenever we move to a new house (which we've done six or seven times to him now) does what we call "the perimeter meow."  He'll walk all around the edge of the house on all sides taking a few steps, stopping, meowing and then repeating the whole process around the house several times.

3.   My first job in Los Angeles after graduating college in San Jose was as a production assistant on the tv show ellen (the sitcom, not the show now, we're talking 12 years back here lol).  I got the job by calling up and asking for it, basically.  The UPM was pissed off at the current p.a. and fired him and hired me.  The first task she gave me?  Buy her tampons.

4.  I make lists, to do lists that are pages and pages long.  I feel better when everything I need to do or know for a specific task is written down.  I'm usually up late the night before a trip writing my list, go to sleep, then wake up and toss everything from the list into the duffel.

5.  I played TheSims Online for the first year it was out, and had a very successful house.  LOL it's okay if you don't know what that means!

And my list of who I'm tagging:

LaraMaria, Kammie, Claudia and Margie!

Here's a sneak peek to a kit that will soon be available at hookedondigiscrap.com -- it's called Impressions and it's inspired by my love of post-impressionist artists like Van Gogh and Monet.  The papers have a canvas and paint look to them and there's several different kinds of frames in lots of different color choices for framing your works of art.  :)

5 painted papers
6 polka-dot papers
2 art-inspired watery papers
2 plaid papers
3 flowered papers
2 striped papers
4 ribbons
5 stitched tags with ribbon
5 stitched textured frames
5 corner puffy stickers
4 medallion puffy stickers
5 oval metalwork frames
5 square metalwork frames
5 metalwork tacks
3 journaling squares

Here's a closer view:
