Aim High

Couldn't wait to complete this layout -- it's mostly Respeldant Ruffles by Lara Payton but the background paper is from a really beautiful kit by her also that's part of a giveaway June 1-7 at Scrap2Gether.com for competing in LO challenges like this one.

It's my first wedding layout, these are WAY old and I'm psyched that I've completed even one layout for my wedding album.

Journaling reads: Everyone thinks it’s so amazing that most of the time, the person who catches the bouquet at a wedding is the next person to get married. It’s not so amazing, they are the only women at the wedding actually trying to catch it and not avoiding it.

Page 1
Here's more pages for my daughter's first birthday album. I can't believe I'm actually getting around to building this.

Journaling reads:
Yes, there were three cakes at your party. The big One we bought for you at the famous Phoenix Bakery downtown. We took you there a few weeks before your birthday to order it and walk around Chinatown. Your Auntie Cyndi and Uncle Jeff were nice enough to pick it up for you the day of your party -- it was the tallest cake we’d ever seen, and there was plenty to go around. It was whipped cream with fresh strawberries in between two layers of white cake. It was DELICIOUS.

Your second cake was the giraffe cake, handmade for you by good friend Mommy Joy. You were so unhappy, we cut lots of activities short and Mommy Joy told us to take it home and have it later that night with the family. That’s what we did, and there’s another scrapbook page on you enjoying that cake if you keep flipping in this book.

The third and final cake is one from nearby Gelsons, we got it that morning when we realized we didn’t order a cake for you to destroy and we didn’t want to destroy the giraffe cake or the big cake. And of course, you barely touched it. You stuck in your fingers and gave the frosting to Mommy, you’re so generous!

Working on Set

Prior to mommyhood, I took pictures of other folk and stuff! Here's an oldie but a goodie, the photo is a little worn -- sorry!

Journaling reads:
Once upon a time, before I was a mommy, I worked in film and tv. Here’s a pixture of me and the only nice actor I met on the sitcom “ellen,” where I worked in 1994. I don’t know the date of this picture, but I can tell you two things about it for certain:

1) It was a show night, because I’ve got my headset on and my fabulous brown velvet jacket that I found at a San Jose thrift shop.

2) I brought Dave Higgins that bottle of water he’s holding, as it was part of my job as a production assistant.
